Film Watchmen berlatar belakang tahun 80'an dan dengan dunia yang berbeda.

Pada masa itu superhero dilarang, satu-satunya yang masih ada pun di bawah kendali langsung pemerintah Amerika Serikat.

Tiba-tiba para pahlawan itu masih beraksi dan pensiunan mengetahui dirinya menjadi sasaran oleh musuh yang tak terlihat dan ingin membunuh mereka satu persatu.

Watchmen menawarkan sebuah petualangan misteri yang kompleks dan berlapis-lapis.

Hingga akhirnya seorang veteran superhero bertopeng dibunuh secara brutal, sebuah investigasi terhadap pun dimulaoi.

Para superhero itu pun bersatu kembali untuk mencegah kehancuran mereka sendiri.

Tetapi dengan melakukan hal itu, menemukan plot yang lebih dalam dan jauh lebih jahat. (2)
