Ellen Page lahir dari pasangan Dennis Page dan Martha Philpotts.

Semasa muda, ia mengenyam pendidikan di Queen Elizabeth High School kemudian ke Shambhala School.
Karier
Karier Ellen Page dimulai ketika ia berusia sepuluh tahun.
Pada waktu itu, ia tampil di televisi, 'Pit Pony', pada 1997.
Film tersebut kemudian diadaptasi menjadi seri televisi, dan ia memainkan kembai perannya sebagai Maggie Maclean.
Pada tahun 2002, Ellen Page tampil sebagai Treena Lahey dalam seri televisi berjudul 'Trailer Park Boys'.
Di tahun yang sama, dirinya tampil di film berjudul Marion Bridge.
Dalam film itu, Ellen Page memainkan peran sebaga Joanie.
Film Marion Bridge berhasil memenangkan Best Canadian First Feature Film Award.
Mulai dari masa tersebut, Ellen Page terus membintangi berbagai film terkenal.
Pada tahun 2006, dia tampil dalam ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ sebagai ‘Kitty Pryde / Shadowcat’.
Ia memainkan kembali peran tersebut dalam ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’.
