Film X-Men: Days of Future Past adalah film sekuel X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men: First Class, dan The Wolverine.

Film ini berdasarkan komik berjudul 'Days of Future Past' yang ditulis oleh Chris Claremont dan John Byrne dan dibintangi oleh Hugh Jackman sebagai Wolverine.

Dalam film ini, Wolverine kembali bergabung dengan X-Men selama era dystopian di mana mutan dibuat punah oleh robot-robot bertenaga mutan yang dikenal sebagai Sentinels.

X-Men: Days of Future Past dirilis di seluruh dunia pada 23 Mei 2014 dan mendapat ulasan kritis serta audiensi yang sangat positif.

Cerita, aksi, elemen tematik, dan efek visualnya mendapatkan pujian.

Peristiwa-peristiwa dalam film ini juga bertanggung jawab mengubah garis waktu dari seri film X-Men. (1)

X-Men mengirim Wolverine kembali ke masa lalu untuk mengubah sejarah dan mencegah peristiwa yang mengakibatkan malapetaka bagi mutan dan manusia.

Robot Sintinels dibuat untuk memburu para mutan yang ada dibumi dan diprediksi menjadi kehancuran bagi para mutan.

Hubungan mutan dengan manusia memang sudah tidak baik saat itu, hal ini disebabkan adanya pembunuhan oleh mutan pada masa lalu yang menjadi pencetus awal proyek robot Sintenels.

Melihat kejadian ini para mutan yang saling bermusuhan juga memutuskan untuk bekerja sama.

Para mutan ini pun sepakat untuk mengirim Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) ke masa lalu untuk menghindari malapetaka di masa depan.

Wolverine dikirim kembali ke tahun 1973 saat pembunuhan oleh mutan dilakukan.

Tentunya, Wolverine punya tugas besar untuk keselamatan bangsanya dan manusia. (2)
